Welcome to Grade 2

We are very excited about the year ahead as we are going to be learning about many new things and having lots and lots of fun. 
We start the year with the theme, “All about ME” and we look forward to learning about our Grade 2’s  and their families.  Once we’ve got to know the children, we will travel to prehistoric times and learn all about the dinosaurs that lived long, long ago.  We end the term by learning about giants.

During the second term we will find out about Egypt.  There is the exciting prospect of Egyptian Day in June, when the school is transformed into Ancient Egypt and we become pharaohs, Egyptian princesses, slaves and mummies.

We spend the third term learning about Water, Vikings and Frogs.  During the last term, we will find out about Transport and the giant Titanic.  We’ll learn about the fascinating world of Pirates, transform into them and travel to Camps Bay beach for a fun-filled Pirate Day.  We’ll end the year off with the theme of Christmas.

This year is going to be a busy, but exciting one and we look forward to spending it with you.

Ons is baie opgewonde oor die jaar wat voorlê. Ons gaan baie nuwe opwindende dinge leer en baie pret hê.

Ons pak die jaar aan met die tema, "Alles oor MYSELF" en ons sien daarna uit om oor ons Graad 2’s en hul gesinne te leer. Sodra ons die kinders leer ken het, sal ons na die pre-historiese tye reis en alles leer oor die dinosourusse wat lank, lank gelede geleef het. Ons sluit die kwartaal af deur interessante feite oor reuse te leer.
 
Gedurende die tweede kwartaal sal ons van Egipte leer. Egiptiese Dag word gedurende Junie gehou en dit is wanneer die skool in Antieke Egipte verander word en ons word farao’s, Egiptiese prinsesse, slawe en mummies.

Ons spandeer die derde kwartaal deur meer oor Water, Vikings en Paddas te leer. Gedurende die laaste kwartaal, leer ons oor Vervoer en die reuse Titanic. Ons sal ook uitvind oor die interessante wêreld van seerowers.  Ons verander almal in seerowers en reis na Kampsbaaistrand vir 'n opwindende Seerowersdag. Ons sluit die jaar af met ‘n Kersfees-tema.

Hierdie jaar gaan 'n besige, maar opwindende een wees en ons sien uit daarna om dit saam met ons Graad 2’s te spandeer.
