Koorleiers: Cecile Coetzee (Juniorkoor); Florence Stassen (Seniorkoor)

The school has a Junior Choir (Grades 1 to 3) and a Senior Choir (Grades 4 to 7). Learners are selected after a voice test, which is compulsory. New learners who start attending our school at a later stage, must please notify the educator concerned if they are interested in joining the choir. There are no costs involved for this activity.
The Junior Choir practises on Tuesday mornings from 07:30 – 08:15 and Friday afternoons from 12:45 to 14:00. The Senior Choir practises on Mondays from 17:00 – 18:30 and on Thursday mornings from 07:30 to 08:15.
During practices we pay attention to the development of breathing, the voice and the mastering and musical interpretation of appropriate repertoire, chosen according to the learners' interests and ages.
It is important to us that the learners are introduced to the importance of all aspects of choral participation, namely, the enjoyment of singing together, the aesthetic, discipline, a good choir tone, good choir repertoire and folk music of different groups in our community as well as from other countries.
Both choirs are given the opportunity to perform at school functions, assemblies, other schools, churches and the Eisteddfod.
Choir Leaders: Cecile Coetzee (Junior Choir); Florence Stassen (Senior Choir)
