Piano

Our mission is:
• to give each piano learner the enjoyment of making music
• to choose repertoire according to the learner's ability, interest and personality
• to develop a secure technique
• to give learners the opportunity of participating in ensemble playing
Learners from Gr 1 to Gr 7 may receive piano tuition.
Learners interested in piano tuition should firstly hand their names in at the office. Assessment of new applications is necessary before tuition can commence. waiting Should our quota of learners be full, your child's name will be placed on a waiting list. Having a piano is also an important requirement before any learner can start with lessons.

During practical lessons, learners receive tuition in technical work, studies and pieces. Aspects such as sight-reading and aural training also receive attention during lessons.
Beginners receive theory tuition during lessons. Learners are placed in group sessions from Unisa Gr 1. Teachers will advise learners in this regard. Participation in external examinations (Unisa, Royal Schools and Trinity College), Eisteddfod, music competitions and other concerts are strongly recommended.
