Minecraft Esports is Kenridge Primary School’s brand new, fast-paced, competitive team sport where learners use logic, strategy, and rapid communication to outmanoeuvre opponents in Capture the Flag matches as well as Build Battles. While many see Minecraft as a creative sandbox, the Esports format transforms it into a high-stakes environment requiring precise mechanical skill and sophisticated resource management.

By participating in this extramural, Grade 7s develop 21st-century skills including collaboration, computational thinking, complex problem-solving, and digital citizenship. Much like traditional sports, it fosters teamwork and leadership, as players must coordinate roles in real-time to achieve a common goal. Beyond the screen, the strategic planning involved strengthens mathematical spatial awareness and grit, providing a fun yet rigorous platform for learners to gain insights into the exciting world of Esports.
