Take note of our expectations:

  • Remind your child to pack their school bags the night before and make sure they are prepared for the following school day.
  • We recommend they go to bed early to ensure they get a good night’s rest for a wonderful day of learning.
  • We take pride in our school uniform and therefore learners need to ensure they are wearing the correct school uniform. Do not mix and match Physical Education clothes and the formal school uniform.
  • Please make sure that all stationery and clothing is clearly labeled with your child’s name and surname. Learners are aware of the lost property procedures.
  • Every Grade Six learner has signed a cellphone policy and therefore we expect them to uphold this contract. Cellphones and smartwatches need to be switched off as soon as they enter the school grounds and handed to the class teacher at the start of the school day.
  • If your child is absent, he/she is responsible for catching up the work missed. This also applies to learners attending music lessons during school hours.

General:

  • Please refer to the CASS dates that are in your child’s homework diary for any important dates. Please teach your child time-management skills by helping them set up a study timetable to make sure they are well prepared for all their assessments.

Exciting events:

We are looking forward to our camp which is in term 3. This is the time where we see our learners grow and start to move out of their comfort zones. On that note, we ask that you encourage your child to step out of their comfort zones and try something new by getting involved in all aspects of Kenridge Primary School. Please help your child to find a balance between academics, sports, cultural and social aspects.

Thank you for your participation and commitment which will ensure that your child has the best year possible.

Here in Grade Six we strive for progress, not perfection. We encourage our learners to learn from their mistakes and use them to grow.
